Amy Kremer Resigns as Chairman of Tea Party Express

Louisville, KY – Amy Kremer announced today her resignation as Chairman of the Tea Party Express, effective immediately:

“This has been a really difficult decision for me, but the time has come for me to leave Tea Party Express.  I’ve wanted to move in a different direction for a while, but also wanted to make sure that any change I make was also a positive change for the conservative movement.

“So as we move into this election cycle, I think the time is right.

“As one of the only remaining members of the original tour, Tea Party Express has been a huge part of my life and I am proud of the historic work we accomplished - like partnering with CNN to host the first ever Tea Party Presidential Debate and electing conservatives such as Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz to Congress.

“The past 5 years of working with the conservative grassroots movement has been the most meaningful of my life.  As one of the original founders of the modern day tea party movement, I am humbled by the community of activists who have built it.  I’ve very grateful to the many people I’ve met and worked with along the way.

“While I can’t give the specifics yet, my new projects will keep me working in that movement. While I may no longer be on a bus, I will definitely be on the ground, continuing my work in the movement and for the conservative cause.  I’m excited about engaging in competitive Senate primaries and supporting fiscal conservatives in the coming weeks.”
